FoGA gives students the opportunity to participate in panel discussions, interactive mentoring sessions, and question and answer engagements focused on career planning, financial responsibility, entrepreneurship, higher education, technical and vocational training, leadership, relationships, personal development, and the growing influence of artificial intelligence in today’s workplace.

The programme encouraged students to think critically about their future while exposing them to multiple career pathways rather than presenting a single definition of success.

Why FoGA Was Launched At  Manya Krobo Senior High School

The choice of Manya Krobo Senior High School for the inaugural event carried deep personal significance. FoGA Co Founders, Christel Comfort Agbemafle and Godsway Cofie Obro Boateng, are both alumni of MAKROSEC and served as Senior School Prefects in 2017. Returning to their former school as mentors represented a commitment to investing in the institution that helped shape their leadership journey.

Speaking during the opening session, Christel reflected on the importance of giving back to the school community and inspiring students to pursue purpose driven lives beyond the classroom.

School authorities welcomed the initiative and praised FoGA for creating meaningful opportunities for students. Assistant Headmaster III, Mr Jonas Dorkordi, commended the organisation and proposed the establishment of a permanent FoGA club at the school to sustain mentorship and leadership development for future students.

Professionals Share Honest Career Experiences During FoGA Maiden Edition

A major highlight of the event was an engaging panel discussion moderated by Mrs. Christel Comfort Agbemafle.

Seven professionals from different career backgrounds shared their personal journeys, discussing both their successes and challenges after completing senior high school.

The panel featured entrepreneur and veterinarian Wendell Nyumutei, Laynah Cares Foundation Founder Lawrencia Yeboah, development practitioner Prince Forson, project management professional and peer counsellor Andrews Acquah Abekah, administrative professional Hetty Lumor, Chartered MCIPS procurement specialist Emmanuel Yoosi Affum, and ODA Delivery Officer Ezekiel Hayford.

Their discussions covered university life, taking gap years, financial discipline, career planning, entrepreneurship, social media, relationships, and emerging opportunities created by artificial intelligence.

Their authentic stories resonated strongly with students, many of whom actively participated throughout the programme.

Exploring Multiple Pathways After Secondary School

During the interactive question and answer session, students explored four major pathways available after completing senior high school.

These included university education, Technical and Vocational Education and Training, entrepreneurship and direct employment, as well as professional certifications and self directed online learning.

Mentors encouraged students to choose paths that matched their talents, interests, and long term ambitions instead of following societal expectations.

The enthusiastic participation extended the session beyond its scheduled closing time as students continued seeking practical advice about their future.
