The money was intended solely for her children’s education and other essential needs. However, things took a shocking turn when she became romantically involved with a man named Elder Ebenezer from the Continuation Church in Bekwai Dompoase.

According to Veronica, Elder Ebenezer earned her trust with promises of marriage and a stable future. However, his intentions soon became clear when he pressured her into handing over GH₵30,000 of the pension fund. He claimed the money was needed for temporary support on a building project and a pending investment. Despite Veronica’s reservations, Ebenezer persisted, assuring her that the funds would be repaid.
“I told him the money wasn’t mine to give, but he insisted, promising he would pay it back,” Veronica explained during an appearance on the domestic issues program Ayerepa Afutuo on April 30, 2026.
