Moses K. Zigfred Acquah Early Life and Education

Moses K. Zigfred Acquah was born in the 2000s in Agona Swedru (Central region), and raised in Aiyinase in the Western Region of Ghana. He began his basic education at Aiyinase Anglican Primary School and later completed his Junior High School at Adventist Preparatory School.

He received the Hess-GNPC Scholarship, which enabled him to pursue secondary education at Kwame Nkrumah Senior High School. During his time there, he was part of the school’s Science and Maths Quiz Team and served as organizer for the team. He also contested for the position of School Prefect but was unsuccessful, an experience he has described as formative in shaping his resilience and leadership growth.

After completing senior high school in 2018, Acquah briefly worked as a teacher at Kingdom Preparatory School in Aiyinase, where he taught Mathematics and Religious & Moral Education. He also served as Form Master for the final year class and Sports Master for the school.

In 2019, he earned the GNPC Foundation Scholarship to study Industrial Chemistry at the University of Cape Coast. While at UCC, he was elected Vice President of the Industrial Chemistry Students Association of Ghana and later became the Local President of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) at UCC. He subsequently served as Congress Coordinator during the 54th Annual Delegates Congress of NUGS at the national level.

He graduated in 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Chemistry.

Professional Career And Further Studies

Following his undergraduate studies, Moses K. Zigfred Acquah completed his national service at the University of Cape Coast Hospital, where he worked as a Pharmacy Assistant.

Between 2024 and 2025, he served as Assistant Operations Manager at Maa Regi Bakery Catering and More Limited, gaining experience in operations management and organizational coordination.

In 2025, he enrolled in a Master of Science (MSc) in Energy Economics at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). His academic interests focus on upstream, middlestream and downstream petroleum economics, energy markets, and resource governance.

Political and Public Engagement

Moses K. Zigfred Acquah is a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and has been involved in youth and grassroots political mobilization. He has participated in conferences and leadership engagements aimed at youth empowerment and governance discussions.

He is the founder of the Talk Ghana Initiative, a multisectoral youth-focused platform aimed at mentoring and grooming young people toward leadership, entrepreneurship, and national development.

In 2025, he was invited as a speaker for student leadership engagements, including an address to local executives of the National Union of Ghana Students at the University of Cape Coast, where he spoke on leadership responsibility and performance.

Vision and Interests

Moses K. Zigfred Acquah has expressed long-term ambitions of becoming a specialist in Ghana’s oil and gas industry, particularly in upstream and downstream petroleum operations. He has indicated plans to pursue further studies in Oil and Gas Management, Energy Law, and eventually legal training, with the aim of contributing to policy development, resource governance, and sustainable management of Ghana’s petroleum and mining sectors.

He has also expressed interest in developing expertise in the mining industry alongside his work in energy economics.
