I) 2025 WASSCE Mathematics Core 2 – Section A (Question 1)

An intercity shuttle travels between two cities, Amanfro and Kotoku, covering the first half of the distance at an average speed of 60 km/h and the second half at 90 km/h. The total distance between the two cities is 300 km.

(a) Calculate, for the entire journey, the average speed of the shuttle.

(b) If the speed of the shuttle in the first half of the journey is reduced to 50 km/h, determine its effect on the overall time.

II) 2025 WASSCE Mathematics Core 2 – Section A (Question 2)

A stock broker, Kojo, invested some amount in two accounts which pay 11% and 10% simple interest annually. The amount invested at 11% is 140% of the amount invested at 10%. After 3½ years, he earned a total of GH¢ 22,580.60 as interest. How much was invested at 11%?

V) 2025 WASSCE Mathematics Core 2 – Section A (Question 8)

Mr Afenyo planned to plough 120 acres of farmland each day. Due to unforeseen circumstance 85 acres could be ploughed each day, resulting in an increase in the planned time by 2 days with 40 acres of the land still remained to be ploughed. Calculate the:

(a) number of days Mr Afenyo planned to plough the land initially;

(b) total area of the farmland.

VI) 2025 WASSCE Mathematics Core 2 – Section A (Question 5)

The midpoint of the line joining Y(2a, 3) and Z(–4, b) is M(1, 2a – 1). Find:

(a) the values of a and b;

(b) |YZ|.

VII) 2021 WASSCE Mathematics Paper 1 – Objective ( Question 15)

The sum of the interior angles of a regular polygon with k sides is (3k–10) right angles. Find the size of the exterior angle?

A. 60°

B. 40°

C. 90°

D. 120°

XY is a line segments with the coordinates X (–8, –12) and Y(p, q). If the midpoint of XY is (–4, –2) find the coordinates of Y.

500 tickets were sold for a concert tickets for adults and children were sold at $4.50 and $3.00 respectively if the total receipts for the concerts was $1987.50 how many tickets for adults were sold?
