New Ghana Standard Passport Application Fee And How To Apply

The Ghanaian government has reduced the fee for a standard passport application. The former fee was GHS 500.

This aims to ease citizens’ costs and also discourage the use of unauthorized agents.

The announcement was made on November 9, 2025, by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.

New Standard Ghana Passport Application Fee

The new standard Ghana passport fee is GHS 350 from 13 Nov 2025, down from GHS 500.

As mentioned earlier, this is part of government’s effort to ease citizen costs and curb informal agents.

The new passport fee of GHS 350 applies to all Passport Application Centres (PACs) nationwide for standard services.

The previous fee was GHS 500.

The roll-out coincides with other passport reforms including chip-embedded passports and enhanced processing features.
