A reputable public institution is seeking to recruit a highly qualified, experienced, and results-oriented professional for the position of Director, Finance.

Key Duties & Responsibilities


The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the formulation of financial policies and strategies
  • Leading the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of financial programmes and activities
  • Ensuring efficient management of financial, human, and material resources
  • Mobilizing financial resources to support operational and strategic goals
  • Overseeing the preparation and timely submission of budgets and financial reports
  • Ensuring accurate analysis, interpretation, and reporting of financial statements
  • Ensuring compliance with financial laws, regulations, fiscal policies, and IPSAS standards
  • Supervising the receipt, custody, and disbursement of funds in accordance with approved procedures
  • Advising Management on financial governance, risk management, and compliance matters
  • Strengthening internal financial controls and ensuring implementation of audit recommendations
  • Overseeing performance management systems within the Directorate
  • Maintaining effective collaboration with Ministries, Departments, Agencies, and other stakeholders on financial matters

Qualifications & Experience

  • Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline
  • Chartered Member of a recognised professional body such as ICAG, ACCA, CPA, or CIMA
  • Minimum of ten (10) years relevant post-bachelor’s work experience
  • At least five (5) years in a senior management role
  • Strong knowledge of public financial management systems and regulatory frameworks

  • High integrity and ethical standards
  • Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills
  • Excellent analytical and financial reporting abilities
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, auditing, and financial controls
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Proficiency in financial and ICT applications
  • Good understanding of labour laws and public sector administration

Age Limit


Applicants should not be above 55 years at the time of appointment.
